YAKIMA, Wash. (AP) — More than 120 people attended a Monday night vigil in a downtown Yakima Taco Bell parking lot to remember a teacher’s aide who was shot to death early Sunday as she sat in a car with friends.

Family members and friends of 24-year-old Yecenia Guerrero shared stories about her, sang hymns and called for an end to violence.

The Yakima Herald-Republic reports police are trying to identify a suspect in the shooting.

Lt. Mike Merryman says she had no gang ties and was not the intended target. He says the shooting was sparked by a dispute between people she knew.
