Camas — The Camas-Washougal Chamber of Commerce named Lacamas Community Credit Union as 2011 Business of the Year. The credit union was founded in 1936 and was the first credit union in Southwest Washington. It has expanded to seven locations and supports the local community through sponsorships and donations. Kathleen Romane, the CEO, is the main ingredient to the success of the credit union, said the chamber.

The chamber has also announced the 2011 Citizen of the Year, Carrie Schulstad. She owns The Uncommon Gift, a downtown business, was a founding member of the Camas Farmers Market, helped create the Downtown Camas Association, and remains a driving force behind many Downtown Camas events.
