DERA ISMAIL KHAN, Pakistan (AP) — Pakistani intelligence officials say a third American missile attack has taken place close to the Afghan border and that five suspected militants have been killed.

The officials said the latest missiles Wednesday hit a vehicle close to the town of Miram Shah in North Waziristan.

They spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to talk to the media.

Earlier, officials said a pair of attacks killed 10 alleged insurgents in the South Waziristan region.

The U.S. does not publicly discuss drone strikes in Pakistan, but officials have said privately that they have killed several senior al-Qaida and Taliban commanders.

More than 200 attacks have taken place since 2009.
