MOUNT ANGEL, Ore. (AP) — The Marion County sheriff’s office is investigating a police shooting in Mount Angel.

Sheriff’s spokesman Don Thomson told the Statesman Journal the officer shot a suspect who ran from a pickup truck Wednesday after a chase ended in a crash.

The officer had tried to stop the truck but it took off, jumping curbs and taking out a stop sign before it went down a dead-end street and crashed in a field.

The officer was not injured. A second suspect remained in the truck and was taken into custody.
