KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. (AP) — The Oregon Air National Guard is returning to Klamath Falls for its largest air-to-air combat exercise.

The Herald and News reports that Kingsley Field will host Sentry Eagle in July and wrap it up with a free public event and air show on July 23.

Visitors will be able to walk the runway, sit in cockpits, talk to pilots and listen to air combat controllers on their radios.

More than 50 modern and historic aircraft, some more than 70 years old, will be on display.

The training exercise runs July 20 to 23 and will include aircraft from other bases around the country that will fly a series of air combat practice missions.

Kingsley Field has traditionally hosted Sentry Eagle every other year, but runways were being repaved in 2009.
