MONITOR (AP) — Chelan County is closing the oldest wooden bridge serving vehicles crossing the Wenatchee River.

The Wenatchee World reports that nails used to fasten wooden planks on the Monitor Bridge have begun popping up due to vibration. The historic bridge will close for a week.

The closure comes just about a month after of a $2 million restoration project on the Monitor Bridge was completed. The 1907 bridge was dismantled last year by the state Department of Transportation for restoration.

The bridge gets heavy use this time of the year by farmers moving their tractors and sprayers.
