PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — The Portland fire department says that two people having trouble swimming in the Willamette River had to be rescued.

According to the department, one person jumped into the river and was having difficulty staying afloat Saturday night. A second person jumped in to help him. Firefighters found them clinging to a seawall.

None were seriously injured. One 54-year-old man was transported to a hospital, though.
