Chad Reed wins AMA Motocross event at Budds Creek

MECHANICVILLE, Md. (AP) — Australian star Chad Reed raced to his third victory in the first five AMA Motocross events of the season Saturday, winning the second moto after finishing third in the first in the Budds Creek National.

The Honda rider opened a 15-point lead over second-place Ryan Villopoto in the 450 Class standings.

Villopoto, the Kawasaki rider from Poulsbo, Wash., was second Saturday. He won the first moto and was third in the second. Suzuki’s Ryan Dungey, from Belle Plaine, Minn., was third after finishing second in both motos.

South Africa’s Tyla Rattray topped the 250 Class, finished second and first on a Kawasaki.
