Sagan wins 8th stage of Tour of Switzerland

SCHAFFHAUSEN, Switzerland (AP) — Peter Sagan of Slovakia has won the eighth stage of the Tour of Switzerland, while Damiano Cunego of Italy maintained the overall lead.

The 21-year-old rider for Liquigas-Cannondale, who also won Monday’s third stage, led the sprint to finish ahead of Australia’s Matt Goss and Britain’s Ben Swift in 3 hours, 52 minutes on Saturday.

Cunego leads Steven Kruijswijk of the Netherlands by 1 minute, 36 seconds.

The riders covered 104 miles from Tuebach near the Austrian border along Lake Constance to Schaffhausen.
