MILWAUKEE (AP) — Brewers manager Ron Roenicke has been ejected for the first time this season for arguing with plate umpire Bob Davidson after a testy at-bat by Nyjer Morgan in the sixth inning.

Morgan was hit by a pitch Monday night from Tampa Bay Rays starter Jeff Niemann, but Davidson ruled that Morgan leaned into the ball and ordered him back to the plate.

Morgan was infuriated and had to be pulled back as Roenicke came out to argue. After a brief discussion, Morgan and Roenicke cooled down.

Morgan later struck out and Davidson ejected Milwaukee hitting coach Dale Sveum from the dugout. Roenicke returned to argue with Davidson and the umpire tossed the mild-mannered rookie manager, too.
