SEATTLE (AP) — The Coast Guard says a train derailment in a Seattle industrial area, on Harbor Island, has spilled 600 gallons of diesel fuel on the ground near the West Seattle Bridge. There are no reports of diesel from Monday night’s spill actually entering the water.
The agency is overseeing the cleanup.
The derailment involves a Union Pacific Railroad locomotive and two freight cars that carried cement ash.
The Coast Guard says the Seattle Fire Department and Seattle Pacific Railroad also responded.
