South Ridge math team places fourth

Ridgefield — A team of fourth-graders from South Ridge Elementary School placed fourth in the state “Math is Cool” tournament May 21. Team winners were Emma Lewis, Andrew Epstein, Trevor Johnson and Jake Milanowski.

The students answered questions in algebra, geometry, probability and problem-solving.

Team contests included relays, group problems and college knowledge bowl rounds where teams went head-to-head Jeopardy-style.
