BEND, Ore. (AP) — Deschutes County deputies are asking the public to help identify a man who dumped a milky-colored substance into an irrigation canal east of Bend.

The sheriff’s office says it appears the man was cleaning some equipment and used the canal Sunday as a dump site.

A witness reported the man dumping the substance from a container on a trailer towed by a pickup truck.

KTVZ reports deputies saw the milky substance in the canal. There are few customers downstream from the dump site and none that use the water for drinking.
