SEATTLE (AP) — A Bellingham man is about half way through a bicycle trip to all 30 major league ballparks.

The Seattle Times reports Darren O’Donnell is in Florida where he had one of his best stops at Tampa Bay. The Rays gave him a jersey and invited him to batting practice where he talked with manager Joe Maddon.

The Seattle Times reports O’Donnell left home on April 8. His first game was the Mariners’ home opener at Safeco Field. He plans to end the trip on Sept. 25 at Saint Louis.

The 24-year-old Western Washington University graduate is spending money set aside for grad school. Along the way he hopes to make some contacts that might lead to a front-office job with a ball club.
