ATLANTA (AP) — Third baseman Chipper Jones returned to the Atlanta Braves’ lineup for Tuesday night’s game against Toronto after missing four games with a right adductor strain.

The Braves purchased the contract of infielder Julio Lugo from Triple-A Gwinnett and optioned Diory Hernandez to Gwinnett.

Jones, whose .305 career batting average ranks No. 2 on baseball’s career list of switch-hitters, is hitting .266 with seven homers and 40 RBIs in 63 games this season.

Lugo signed a minor-league contract with Atlanta on May 23. The 12th-year veteran hit .231 with one homer and seven RBIs in 13 games at Gwinnett.

Lugo played in 93 games with Baltimore last year, hitting .249 with 20 RBIs.
