LAUSANNE, Switzerland (AP) — American national team diver Harrison Jones has been suspended for one year after testing positive for marijuana.

Swimming’s world governing body FINA says Jones failed a doping control at the U.S. Winter National Championships, held in February at Iowa City, Iowa.

FINA says USA Diving imposed the ban, which took effect on April 6.

Jones, a University of Southern California student, won the 3-meter springboard title at Iowa City.

The 21-year-old native of Spring, Texas, competed in the 2008 Olympic trials but did not qualify to represent the U.S. in Beijing.
