SEATTLE (AP) — A King County sheriff’s spokesman says burglars ransacked the home of a man in his 70s as he lay dead on the floor. Sgt. John Urquhart says the man’s two vehicles were stolen as well.

Family members last saw the man about two weeks ago. When they didn’t hear from him, relatives came by on Friday and found him dead, covered with a blanket. The house in the Burien area south of Seattle was in disarray.

Detectives believe the items were stolen after the man died.

Urquhart says the cause of death was not apparent. The man was not immediately identified.

The missing vehicles include a blue 2002 Dodge Ram pickup truck and a gold 2005 Chrysler PT Cruiser.
