SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — Giants manager Bruce Bochy says he will notify Major League Baseball this weekend of his choice to replace Jim Riggleman on the bench for the All-Star game.

Riggleman abruptly resigned as manager of the Washington Nationals on Thursday amid a contract dispute with management.

Bochy, a longtime friend of Riggleman’s, had chosen him along with Arizona manager Kirk Gibson. San Francisco coaches Tim Flannery, Mark Gardner, Roberto Kelly, Hensley Meulens, Dave Righetti and Ron Wotus are also on the staff for the July 12 game in Phoenix.

Riggleman’s resignation on Thursday left Bochy scrambling for a replacement.
