LAS VEGAS (AP) — Boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr. is being sued for allegedly directing his bodyguards to attack a man in the valet parking area of the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas last year.

Anthony Cliff filed a lawsuit against Mayweather in state court in Las Vegas on Friday.

The lawsuit alleges that Mayweather became upset after Cliff tried to take Mayweather’s photo and ask the boxer about an upcoming fight at the Palms on March 27, 2010.

Mayweather’s bodyguards allegedly struck Cliff in the face, knocking him to the ground. They then kicked him repeatedly in his back and side.

The Palms also was named in the lawsuit for allegedly failing to provide adequate security.

Mayweather’s attorney and a spokesman for the Palms did not immediately respond Monday to requests for comment.
