Hannover’s Cherundolo to miss about 4 weeks

HANNOVER, Germany (AP) — Hannover says American captain Steve Cherundolo will be out for about four weeks with a left-ankle injury.

Cherundolo was injured playing for the United States in the 4-2 loss to Mexico in the Gold Cup final Saturday.

Hannover is preparing for the new Bundesliga season that kicks off Aug. 5.
