JOINT BASE LEWIS-MCCHORD, Wash. (AP) — A medical unit from Joint Base Lewis-McChord is preparing for its fourth deployment to Iraq in eight years.

A flag ceremony Thursday at the base marks the departure soon for 110 members of the 47th Combat Support Hospital. They’ll be followed by about the same number in August.

The Army says they have three missions: command and control for some medical units across Iraq, operating a hospital in southern Iraq, and staffing State Department medical facilities.

The unit returned in January 2010 from its previous deployment to Iraq.
