PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — A report of an intoxicated man harassing children at a southwest Portland park ended with Portland police shooting and wounding a man.

KPTV reports that officers called to the scene shortly before noon Thursday confronted the man, who decided to run.

Police gave chase, and, at some point, the man was shot once.

Witnesses told police the man may have been armed with a knife, but police have not said whether he was armed. They also haven’t said how many shots were fired or whether the man was advancing toward officers when he was shot.

The man was rushed to a hospital to be treated for his injuries. No other details were available.
