WACO, Texas (AP) — Baylor senior guard Melissa Jones won’t play when Baylor hosts Missouri in the third-ranked Lady Bears’ “Senior Night” game.

The senior guard is recovering after hitting her head while diving for a loose ball in the last minutes of Baylor’s Sunday win at Oklahoma. Coach Kim Mulkey says the blow caused swelling around the optic nerve to Jones’ right eye. She can’t see out of it, but Mulkey says tests show no damage to the eye, optic nerve or brain and her pupils are equal and reactive to light.

Fellow senior Whitney Zachariason will fill in for Jones, and both will be honored Wednesday.

Baylor can clinch the Big 12 regular season title with a win Wednesday and is set to host first- and second-round NCAA tournament games.
