VANCOUVER, Wash. (AP) — The attorney for a woman who admitted to splashing herself with acid in a bizarre hoax says he needs more time to review the results of a recent mental evaluation of the woman.

The Columbian reports a judge on Tuesday granted the request for a delay to the attorney for 28-year-old Bethany Storro.

The mental evaluation was designed to determine whether Storro could form criminal intent when she accepted donations after falsely claiming to be the victim of an attack in Vancouver, Wash.

She faces three counts of second degree theft. A trial, initially scheduled for March 9, has been postponed to May 16.

Prosecutors say they are in plea negotiations with the defense.
