Ayers, Johnson lead Bucknell over Army 78-51

LEWISBURG, Pa. (AP) — Cameron Ayers scored 19 points and Bryson Johnson added 17 as Bucknell blew out Army 78-51 on Wednesday night in the quarterfinals of the Patriot League tournament.

The Bison (23-8) led 12-6 midway through the opening half and entered halftime on a 22-6 run to take a 34-12 lead into the break. The Black Knights (11-19) shot just 6 of 26 from the floor (23.1 percent), including 0 for 8 from 3-point range in the first half.

Bucknell extended its lead to as many as 28, 61-33, with 7:32 left to play despite shooting 39.3 percent from the field (11 of 28) in the second half.

Mike Muscala added 11 points for the Bison, who will face the No. 4 seed Lehigh (16-14) on Sunday night in the semifinals.

Ella Ellis led Army with 21 points and Jeremy Hence added 14. The Black Knights finished 18 of 66 from the floor (27.3 percent), including 4 of 25 from 3-point range (16 percent).
