CLEVELAND (AP) — Baron Davis will miss the Cleveland Cavaliers’ game against San Antonio.

Coach Byron Scott wants Davis, acquired Feb. 24 from the Los Angeles Clippers, to have at least one more practice with the team before playing in a game. The guard, who practiced Monday and Tuesday, is expected to play Friday against New York or Sunday against New Orleans.

Davis has been bothered all season by a sore left knee, but Scott said the lack of practice time is the reason he has yet to make his debut with the Cavaliers.

Both teams were short-handed going into Wednesday night’s game. San Antonio guard Tony Parker is out with a calf injury. Cleveland forward Antawn Jamison likely will miss the rest of the season after having surgery on a broken finger.
