BEND, Ore. (AP) — A long-planned biomass heating system at Sisters High School in central Oregon could be in place by the end of the school year.
The Bulletin newspaper in Bend reports the Sisters School District could eventually save about $35,000 a year in heating costs.
Sisters Superintendent Jim Golden says he wants to expand the model to the district’s other buildings if the system works and saves money as expected.
