Cal State-Fullerton takes 82-80 victory

STOCKTON, Calif. (AP) — Devon Peltier scored 23 points to lead Cal State-Fullerton to an 82-80 victory over Pacific on Thursday night.

Peltier made six 3-pointers as the Titans shot 68.8 percent from beyond the arc to hold off a second-half rally by Pacific, which trailed by 14 points at halftime.

Jer’Vaughn Johnson had 16 points and 12 rebounds for Fullerton (10-19, 6-9 Big West) and Isiah Umipig also scored 16 points, including four 3-pointers. Andre Hardy added 10 points for the Titans.

Terrell Smith led Pacific (16-13, 8-7) with a career-high 26 points to go with 10 rebounds and five assists. Allen Huddleston had 18 points and Demetrece Young scored 12 for the Tigers.

Sam Willard, Pacific’s leading scorer and rebounder, fouled out with 9:08 remaining and played only 13 minutes.
