SEATTLE (AP) — An Auburn, Wash., man accused of making a light cut in his new roommate’s neck with a samurai sword during a night of drinking has been charged with second-degree assault.
Charging papers filed in King County Superior Court say 56-year-old McKinley Stovall was apparently angry at the roommate so he grabbed the sword off a wall and pressed the blade into the other man’s neck. The Seattle Times says court papers allege Stovall returned the sword to its holder and grabbed a switchblade, cutting the other man’s fingers.
Prosecutors say Stovall refused to come outside after the roommate called police and officers responded. Police finally forced open the front door and found Stovall hiding under bed sheets. He was arrested.
