MACON, Ga. (AP) — David Jeune recorded his second career double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds as sixth-seeded North Florida upset second-seeded East Tennessee State 59-55 on Friday in the Atlantic Sun Conference tournament semifinals.

North Florida (15-18) faces top-seeded Belmont at 6 p.m. on Saturday in the championship. The Ospreys had never defeated ETSU, the two-time defending tournament champion, until Friday.

Conference player of the year Mike Smith led ETSU (22-11) with 20 points.

Leading 57-55, North Florida got the stop it needed when ETSU’s Adam Sollazzo missed a layup, and Jeune grabbed the rebound with 14 seconds left. Jeune was fouled and made both free throws to clinch the win.

For the second straight year, the No. 6 seed has advanced to the final. A sixth seed has won the title only once — 1996, when Central Florida defeated Mercer.
