Texas A&M-Corpus Christi wins finale 76-69

CONWAY, Ark. (AP) — Demond Watt scored 20 points and Texas A&M-Corpus Christi defeated Central Arkansas 76-69 in the season finale for both Saturday.

Terence Jones added 12 points and Chris Mast had 10 for the Islanders (10-21, 5-11 Southland), who won consecutive games for the first time all season.

Tadre Sheppard scored 16 points to lead the Bears (5-24, 1-15), who ended the season on a 10-game losing streak. Imad Qahwash added 12 points and Ryan Williams had 11.

After trailing by 14 in the first half, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi went into halftime down 37-36. The Islanders then opened the second half on a 19-5 run to take the lead for good.

Central Arkansas pulled within 72-69 with 28 seconds remaining, but the Islanders prevented the Bears from scoring again.
