Brewers rough up Bailey, beat Reds 15-2

GOODYEAR, Ariz. (AP) — Brandon Boggs homered off Reds starter Homer Bailey and drove in four runs, leading the Milwaukee Brewers to a 15-2 win over Cincinnati on Monday.

The Brewers piled up 25 hits and roughed up Bailey, who is trying to win one of two openings in Cincinnati’s rotation. He left in the third inning after giving up three consecutive hits with two down.

Boggs and Erick Almonte each went 4 for 5. The Brewers also roughed up Mike Leake, another candidate for the Reds’ rotation. Leake gave up nine hits and four runs in three innings.

Brewers starter Yovani Gallardo struck out five in three scoreless innings, allowing two hits. Cincinnati managed only seven hits for the game.
