There is a report that some of the lesser-paid Philadelphia Eagles have asked a teammate for loans because of the possibility of a lockout and a work stoppage in the NFL.

C’mon, NFL players: You can do better than that.

That’s exactly the news the owners want to hear.

Seriously?

Guys making at least hundreds of thousands of dollars a year, guys who knew this was a possibility for years, and they didn’t squirrel away even a little bit of money.

Especially after the last few years, it has to be difficult for Americans to feel sorry for those players.

Not that the owners aren’t acting greedy.

But c’mon, man.

Asking for loans already?

Don’t even get us started on the NFL player who reportedly is moving his family into his parents’ home.

Did you hear Tiger and Phil played golf together on Thursday?

Sure, the die-hard golf fans knew about it, but what about the casual fans?

Not likely. Which is strange. It wasn’t that long ago that those two paired together in the opening rounds of a tournament would have been front-page news — even in a non-major.

Now, it’s just another first round on the PGA Tour.

The Tour needs one, if not both, to start winning again to create some buzz.
