DORAL, Fla. (AP) — Hunter Mahan went from a comfortable lead to having the No. 1 player in the world on his tail at Doral.

Mahan had a four-shot lead and appeared to be in control Friday at the Cadillac Championship until two bogeys in a three-hole stretch that forced him to settle for a 1-under 71.

Then along came PGA champion Martin Kaymer, in his second week at No. 1 in the world. The German played bogey-free and added a late birdie for a 70 that put him one shot behind. Francesco Molinari, trying to win his second World Golf Championship, had a 68 and was one shot behind.

Tiger Woods struggled to a 74. The culprit was his putter, although it was hard to forget two tee shots — a smother hook that went only 122 yards on No. 2 and pop-up on the 14th hole that traveled 188 yards. He was nine shots behind.
