Eminent Tale, R Holiday Mood win Big A stakes

NEW YORK (AP) — Eminent Tale and R Holiday Mood captured stakes races for 3-year-olds on Sunday at Aqueduct.

Eminent Tale, the 2-5 favorite, dominated the $58,800 Sweet Envoy for New York-breds, beating Uncle Smokey by 534 lengths. Jose Valdivia Jr. rode for trainer Rick Dutrow as the colt ran the one mile, 70 yards in 1:43.92. Eminent Tale paid $2.80 for his fourth win in six starts.

It was much tighter in the $57,000 Out Ruled for fillies as R Holiday Mood fended off Portside by neck for her second win in three starts. Cornelio Velasquez was aboard for trainer Todd Pletcher as R Holiday Mood covered the one mile, 70 yards in 1:44.90. She paid $6.30 to win.
