OSP says sleeping truck driver caused I-84 crash

CASCADE LOCKS, Ore. (AP) — Oregon State Police say a semi-truck driver fell asleep at the wheel and rear-ended a tow truck with a car in tow about 1 a.m. Tuesday on Interstate 84 near Cascade Locks.

The semi-truck driver and owner of the car were taken to Legacy Emmanuel Medical Center in Portland. The tow truck driver was not hurt.

Troopers cited the semi-truck driver for careless driving.

The accident closed westbound lanes of the interstate for three hours.
