A day after more than 6,000 Clark Public Utilities customers lost power on a stormy Sunday, the National Weather Service predicts for today a spring-like high of 56 degrees, with little rain and persistent winds.
Power to most homes in the Hockinson area has been restored. Today should be mild compared to Sunday, offering residents an opportunity to recover from the heavy rain and wind that sent thick branches crashing to the ground.
Thousands of Oregonians are still without power.
Today’s winds will blow steadily between 13 and 18 miles per hour, interspersed with gusts of up to 23 mph. There’s a 80 percent chance of precipitation today, according to meteorologists.
