SALEM, Ore. (AP) — The long front driveway to the Oregon State Hospital will be closed to the public until September for demolition of the hospital’s 63-year-old administration building.

The Statesman Journal reports removing the two-story brick building will complete demolition of nearly 20 old structures to make way for the 620-bed, $280 replacement hospital. Among the demolitions was half of the J Building where “One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest” was filmed.

When the Salem hospital’s west entrance reopens it will be landscape with a fountain and two large circular flower planters.
