CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) — After a one-year absence, 2009 champion North Carolina is back in the NCAA tournament and in a familiar place — its home state.

There were clues everywhere on Thursday that the second-seeded Tar Heels must take No. 15 seed Long Island University seriously in Friday’s second-round East Regional matchup.

The North Carolina locker room erupted as players watched Morehead State stun Louisville, just as coach Roy Williams praised the Blackbirds.

Although LIU’s 13-game winning streak is the longest in the nation and its 13 road wins are also the most in the country, coach Jim Ferry admits his uptempo team vs. the running Tar Heels in Charlotte is “not a good matchup.”
