SEATTLE (AP) — While University of Washington students are on spring break, hundreds of high schools students from across the state will visit the campus in Seattle on Monday for Math Day.

It’s a daylong field trip to encourage student interest in math or science careers.

Students will hear about applications such as robotics, weather forecasts and cracking secret codes. Students can also visit the applied physics, oceanography and seismology labs or take part in activities such as folding paper, throwing boomerangs or learning card tricks.
