GRANITE FALLS, Wash. (AP) — An older woman was killed in a house fire Thursday morning near Granite Falls.

The Daily Herald reports a neighbor reported the fire around 6 a.m. Thursday and flames were too intense in the manufactured home for arriving firefighters to enter immediately.

Marysville Fire District spokeswoman Kristen Thorstenson says the woman’s husband was able to escape uninjured.

She says the cause of the fire does not appear to be suspicious. The Snohomish County fire marshal’s office is investigating.
