STATE COLLEGE, Pa. (AP) — Third-seeded DePaul doesn’t have an ideal draw for its second-round NCAA tournament game Monday night.

To advance to the regional semifinals for the first time since 2006, the Blue Demons (28-6) must get by resurgent Penn State on the Lady Lions’ home floor in Happy Valley.

The sixth-seeded Lady Lions (25-9) will wear their blue road uniforms as the lower seed, though the Jordan Center crowd will most assuredly be on Penn State’s side.

DePaul is enjoying a banner year with program-bests for victories and NCAA seeding. Coach Doug Bruno says his team has been hit-and-miss on the road, where they are 9-5 this season.

Both teams play uptempo offense. Penn State point guard Alex Bentley says whichever squad defends better in transition may have the edge.
