Two snowmobiles rest beside state Highway 14 on the east end of Washougal early Saturday. Christopher Piche of Battle Ground reported that he was hauling the machines on a trailer behind his pickup, driving east for a day of snowmobiling near Mount Adams with his wife, Jolene Jolma, when he hit a patch of ice and skidded across the westbound lane and onto the shoulder. The machines were thrown off the trailer and sailed over the pickup to the verge.
