PARACHINAR, Pakistan (AP) — Police say a suicide car bomber has targeted a police station in northwest Pakistan, killing at least five people.

Senior police official Rashid Khan said about two dozen people were also wounded in Thursday’s attack in the district of Hangu.

He said the dead included an officer and four passers-by.

Hangu lies near the troubled tribal regions along the Afghan border where al-Qaida, Taliban fighters and local militants have flourished.
