KISSIMMEE, Fla. (AP) — Wade Davis allowed a run in six innings and Sean Rodriguez had two RBIs as the Tampa Bay Rays beat the Houston Astros 11-3 on Thursday.
Davis, who was named the No. 3 starter in the Rays’ rotation, struck out five and walked two. Sam Fuld, who is competing for one of the final spots on Tampa Bay’s roster, homered off Bud Norris, and Stephen Vogt added another homer later.
Norris struggled, allowing four runs in four innings. His ERA climbed to 6.75.
After falling behind 2-0, the Rays score six runs. Rookie Jake McGee pitched two scoreless innings in his effort to win a spot in the Rays bullpen.
