INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Sacramento Kings point guard Tyreke Evans is expected to return to action Friday after missing 19 games with plantar fasciitis in his left foot.
Kings coach Paul Westphal says he expects Evans to play 12-15 minutes against the Indiana Pacers.
Evans hasn’t played since Feb. 13. He underwent treatment on the foot and was placed in a walking boot. He was cleared to practice 10 days ago and finally began 5-on-5 drills on Thursday.
Westphal said Evans is pain free and should be able to handle an increased workload in the coming weeks.
Evans is averaging 18.3 points and 5.5 assists per game. He averaged 20.1 points and 5.8 assists last season and was the NBA rookie of the year.
