ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) — Martin Laird made a 12-foot birdie on the last hole for a 7-under 65 to take a one-shot lead over K.J. Choi and Spencer Levin going into the weekend at the Arnold Palmer Invitational.

Laird was among those playing Bay Hill in the afternoon without having to cope with gusting conditions, and it showed in their scores.

Choi put in three hybrid clubs to get ready for the Masters, and he put them to use Friday with a tournament-best 64. Levin shot a 70 in the morning, and it held up as the lead for most of the day.

Laird was at 9-under 135.

Still in the mix is Tiger Woods, a six-time winner at Bay Hill. He made a 20-foot birdie on the last hole for a 68 and was six shots back.
