Rogers paces Rockies to win.

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (AP) — Esmil Rogers threw six solid innings and had two hits, helping the Colorado Rockies beat the Texas Rangers 10-3 on Friday night.

Carlos Gonzalez and Jose Lopez each drove in two runs for the Rockies. Todd Helton added three hits and an RBI and Jonathan Herrera had two hits and drove in a run.

Rangers starter Derek Holland lasted 4 1-3 innings, giving up eight runs on 13 hits. He walked three and struck out three. Michael Young drove in a run for Texas.

Rogers allowed an unearned run on three hits in his first start since being named the Rockies’ fifth starter. He walked one and struck out four.
