The Girl Scouts of Ridgefield joined around 200 other area scouts to celebrate Girl Scout Thinking Day.

Thinking Day honors the birthdays of the organization’s founder Robert Baden-Powell and his wife, Olave Baden-Powell.

The scouts selected a country to learn about and represent during the celebration held at Hudson’s Bay High School. The Ridgefield troop 40332 focused on Malawi, Africa. The girls dressed in Jitenje’s, the traditional dress of the country, complete with special slings to carry their babies. They created an informational display about Malawi that included a clay village and samples of native food to share with the other troops.
