Children are our future and it’s important to provide them with healthy and prosperous lives. Every day they attend public schools that give them the learning that is necessary for their futures but the schools also feed our children unhealthy food that can cause obesity. Obesity causes many problems including cardiovascular disease. To help prevent this, schools must change and provide healthy lunches.
Dr. Thomas R. Kimball and his colleagues at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital are studying a younger group of children and are finding many abnormalities forming in the hearts of obese teens. Treating this problem is extremely costly. An article in Los Angeles Times reported that by 2030, in the U.S., the cost of cardiovascular disease will triple. It’s vitally important that we try to prevent this problem.
One solution to this problem is to feed the children healthy food such as fresh fruits and vegetables not hamburgers and fries that are high in cholesterol and unhealthy fats.
It’s important to provide children with quality ingredients for life.
